About Chuck
Rev. Chuck Coburn is a first generation Pentecostal who was reared in the flatlands of eastern North Carolina. As a youngster he participated in various sports such as: baseball, basketball, and soccer. Baseball was his first love and thus the University of North Carolina came scouting him to play in the eighth grade. In the summer of 1990 while indulging himself fully to all-star baseball a request to go to youth camp came from a man that had passion to see, “whomsoever will let him come,” saved by the eternal God. This summer would be a life changing experience for the young baseball star. Before the conclusion of that youth camp he received the gift of the Holy Ghost and a few weeks later he was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.
After three years of living joyously in God, he found himself spiraling out of control. He left, not only the church, but his relationship with God. His pursuit for happiness, so he thought, landed him in severe trouble with the law. Drugs and alcohol would become his source of hope.
Years of trouble became constant reality of this man. Just as the millennium tumbled over there was also a tumbling in his heart. One night, while attending services with his mother, the spirit of the Lord moved upon him. He was ushered to the altar by that spirit and there life would never be the same. He was radically changed by God and began teaching and preaching to all those who would listen.
While under the tutelage of Rev. Ronald Lappin his ministry would excel due to the fact that his Pastor transmitted his prayer life into him. Wisdom and patience was the heartfelt portrayal of his pastor.
In two thousand and five his ministry turned from working under the domain of the local assembly to traveling all across the United States preaching, operating in the role of an evangelist. He has seen thousands filled with the Holy Ghost and this continues to be his passion.
While evangelizing he met the lovely Heidi Strickland and in February of two thousand and seven they were married in Apopka, Florida. Since then both have traveled through out the United States preaching youth camps, young minister’s conferences, sectional and district youth services.
